Graham Beck: The Game Reserve Shiraz 2014

The Game Reserve Shiraz is reminiscent of ripe, luscious berries like mulberries and cherries. On the palate, a pleasant spiciness of white pepper reveals, paired with sweet spice. The tannins are by all means noticeable yet rather adorn the tongue than being rough. A harmonious and rich red wine from South Africa.

The Wine in Detail

Graham Beck worked closely together with the Wilderness Foundation when creating the Game Reserve Shiraz in order to impressively unite outstanding cultivation with a sense of ecological responsibility. This South African wine is dedicated to the largest antelope of South Africa, the eland. Regarding its flavour, the Graham Beck The Game Reserve Shiraz is reminiscent of ripe, luscious berries like mulberries and cherries. On the palate, a pleasant spiciness of white pepper reveals, paired with sweet spice. The tannins are by all means noticeable yet rather adorn the tongue than being rough. Goes with …

The multi-layered aromas of the Graham Beck The Game Reserve Shiraz  wonderfully go with savoury dishes; particularly the African cuisine is a fantastic companion to this red wine. Poignant dishes and roasts are also a good idea.

Grape Variety

Shiraz is particularly popular in the New World. In the venerable Europe, the same grape variety is rather known under the name Syrah and stands for smoky wines with a sophisticated character. Shiraz from overseas is not less complex yet emphasises its fruit notes much more. Both types have a great storability.

The Winery

Graham Beck from South Africa is one of the best-known wineries in the country and is a must in every collection of a true connoisseur. A meticulous planning, smart use of state-of-the-art cellar technology as well as a huge passion for each and every product define the vintner team. Numerous awards on an international level prove the elaborate approach of the estate Graham Beck right.

Storage

The skilful, 12-month development in wood barrels from mainly French oak made for the elegant harmony of the Game Reserve Shiraz. As almost all Graham Beck wines, it is already a pleasure when enjoyed right now yet will reward patient gourmets with an even finer structure after a few years.
